Uruguay to Host the 2028 FIP World Congress

AUDOCA has announced that Uruguay will host the FIP World Congress (Congreso Mundial de la FIP) in 2028. The bid began in 2025 and was the result of joint work between AUDOCA - Asociación Uruguaya de Organizadores de Congresos y Afines, the Ministerio de Turismo de Uruguay, the Asociación de Química y Farmacia del Uruguay and Virginia Olmos Botali, vice-president of FIP, who played a key role in presenting the candidature. An inspection visit by the association's in-house PCO took place in April, and the host country was confirmed last Saturday during the FIP Congress in Montreal. According to AUDOCA, the result shows once again the importance of coordinated work between the public sector, associations and industry players in positioning Uruguay as a destination for major international congresses and events.
