World Future Energy Summit Wraps Following Energetic Week of Industry-Shaping Announcements

The 18th World Future Energy Summit, organised by RX as part of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week and hosted by Masdar, closed after running 13 to 15 January 2026 at the ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi. The edition drew more than 50,000 participants from over 150 countries, with more than 800 global brands exhibiting across nine halls. Content features included the Greenhouse start-up zone, the Fuse AI cleantech pavilion and the debut of a Greenpeace Cinema. Several transactions were announced on site. Securo Investment Group and Ibom LNG and Logistics Base signed a 700 million US dollar memorandum of understanding and financing term sheet for a 100 MMSCFD liquefied natural gas facility in Nigeria's Akwa Ibom state. Global CMX launched a cross-border energy transaction platform aimed at UAE and Australia investment flows, with two billion dollars of deals already in the pipeline, its President Trevor Ducharme saying the timing could not be more opportune. A report presented at the show identified wind as a strategic renewable pillar for the Middle East, with more than 23 gigawatts of new capacity targeted between 2025 and 2030. The next edition runs 12 to 14 January 2027.
