Wuhan Staged 278 Exhibitions in 2025, Up 38.3%, and Set a Three-Year Plan to Become an International Exhibition Hub

Wuhan is pursuing exhibition-led growth with the declared goal of becoming an international exhibition hub city. Between January and October 2025 the city staged 278 exhibition events, up 38.3% year on year. Its international profile also rose: during 2025 two more local companies obtained ICCA accreditation, one more exhibition project obtained UFI accreditation and one more company obtained IAEE accreditation, bringing the cumulative number of internationally accredited members and projects to 26. The city also attracted nine international shows during the year, among them the World Digital Education Conference, the 32nd Tissue World international technology exhibition, the 2025 China International Agricultural Machinery Exhibition and an international wine and spirits fair. On policy, the three-year action plan for building Wuhan into an international exhibition hub city, covering 2025 to 2027, was formally issued on 28 November 2025 and sets out 17 priority tasks. On funding, professional exhibitions held in Wuhan can receive up to 2 million yuan and high-end conferences up to 600,000 yuan, with the award rate liftable by a further 10% for projects aligned with the city's 965 industrial cluster strategy.
