International Istanbul Book Fair

The International Istanbul Book Fair is an annually held event, organized by Tüyap Fairs and Exhibitions Organization Inc. in collaboration with the Turkish Publishers Association. Established as the oldest book fair in its sector and one of the largest in Europe, it serves as a significant gathering for the publishing community. The upcoming edition is scheduled to take place from December 12 to December 20, 2026, at the Tüyap Fair Convention and Congress Center in Istanbul, Türkiye.

This fair attracts a diverse audience including book lovers, readers, publishing houses, authors, and industry professionals. Past editions have seen substantial participation, with 1,015 publishing houses and non-governmental organizations from Türkiye and abroad in 2025, and over 1,000 in 2023. Beyond the exhibition, the event hosts a rich program of concurrent activities, including more than 450 cultural events and over 2,500 signing sessions in 2024. These events, alongside panels and talks, foster interaction between authors and readers. The fair also features an "Honorary Author" program, with Murathan Mungan selected for the 42nd edition in 2025, and explores various themes such as "The Many Moods of Literature" (2025) and "Long Live the Republic" (2023).
