FACIM Counts 3,150 Exhibitors at Its 61st Edition
The 61st Maputo International Fair, FACIM, ran from 31 August to 6 September 2026 at the Ricatla fairground in Marracuene, Maputo province. Organiser APIEX, the Mozambican investment and export promotion agency, said at the opening that the edition brought together 3,150 exhibitors, 2,500 of them Mozambican and 650 foreign, from around 30 countries; the agency puts the previous edition at more than 2,764 exhibitors from 29 countries with 50,935 visitors. Sectors on show ranged from agriculture and agro-industry to manufacturing, energy, mining, construction, tourism, transport and logistics, digital technology, financial services and the creative economy. At the closing ceremony Prime Minister Benvinda Levi said a fair ends but business cannot end with the closing of the pavilions, urging that partnerships struck on site be converted into investment; she also noted that national exports passed 7.5 billion dollars in 2025, a figure for the country rather than for the fair. The organiser had targeted about 55,000 visitors; no attendance figure for this edition has been released.
